Love this so much! What a fabulous way to describe the creative process and how to nurture it!

I think I am in the process of re-figuring that out (another reason this article is so helpful). I'm finding what worked for previous project(s) isn't always as effective going forward, so a big part of the effort lately has been recognizing that I am growing and changing as a writer and person all the time, and so my process has to evolve with it. Being in tune with myself and giving myself room, doing a lot of "pruning" as you mentioned (love that!) has been helping me recalibrate. I guess the only constant is change right!?

Yes! The only constant is change. I love how kind you are to yourself. Noticing what isn’t working anymore, that you’ve grown as a writer, and being in tune with yourself to allow evolution. So beautiful. If bet it would make an excellent post for The Launch Diaries. I love getting on my yoga mat, hikes, or journaling to get in tune with myself. How do you do it?

You are always inspiring me! Walking is definitely my go-to for getting in tune with myself...a long walk always recalibrates everything and gets ideas flowing for me.

I love the vine analogy, it's so true we must create conditions and it will come. Beautiful writing! 🌱

Thank you, Kate. I’m so glad it resonated with you. How to you create ideal conditions?

My most creative time is as soon as I wake up, so I make sure I'm ready to get going with my writing straight away - fuelled by a snuggly dog and tea! I write for a hour, maybe more if the day allows. Doing it this way daily keeps it all flowing through. I need this routine.🧡

What a lovely image. And since you’re writing first thing, it never gets set aside for to-dos, so it always gets done. I love when my dog hangs around while I write. Thanks for sharing part of your process.
